“The World Health Organization has classified processed meats – including ham, salami, bacon and frankfurts – as a Group 1 carcinogen which means that there is strong evidence that processed meats cause cancer.”
We have attended the Heirloom Festival before and always love this conference. It is filled with kindred spirits who care about their food, their planet earth, their community, and most importantly, their gardens. Plus, it is totally affordable!!!
If you are looking for something to do this coming week? Come on down.
Make sure you say hi! We’re doing a presentation on Wednesday September 6th, at 5PM. We’ll be showing off our Urban Food Forest Homestead in the Las Vegas Desert. With many plants inspired by the Essene gardeners. And in addition, we’ll be bringing seeds to share and fresh picked Jujubes.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!

There are many wonderful things to do in Las Vegas that have nothing to do with the typical ‘party’ Vegas experiences. And this nice little blog post outlines quite a few of our personal facvorites…
(We would also add the Spring Mountain Ranch State Park or the Clark County Wetlands park to that mix…)

If you think drinking and drugging makes you cool or creative… Take a look at these men. All are Creative, Cool and Achievers. They may have other ‘personal’ issues, but they all adopted clean and sober living (no drinking or drugs) to one degree or another. If they can do it, so can you. All the guys from Aerosmith, Eric Clapton, Tiger Woods, Anthony Hopkins, Ringo Starr, Robbie Williams, Pat Metheny, Ben Affleck, George Bush, Depak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Jesus Christ, Buddha, Ewan MacGregor, Kelsey Grammer, Tony Robbins, Jack LaLane, Tim Allen, Paul Williams, Wynton Marsalis, John Coltrane, Alex Van Halen, Alice Cooper , Steve Earle, Henry Rollins, Ted Nugent, Elton John, Frank Zappa, Peter Gabriel, Gene Simmons, Iggy Pop, Tom Waits, Steve Vai, Elvis Costello, Prince, Johnny Cash, Donald Trump, Stevie Wonder, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespie, Oscar Peterson, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Al Pacino, and numerous other sports figures,
We are excited to share that we’ll be presenting at the upcoming Airbnb OPEN conference in November. We’ll presenting at the newly restored historic Clifton’s Cafeteria on Broadway in Downtown Los Angeles. First we are presenting at a Workshop “Creating the Ultimate Guest Experience” and discussing how to create an awesome Welcome Kit. For us, that means offering wonderful samples from our favorite vendors from the Natural Products Expo and more…

WholeWay Home is proud to lend its name and help to sponsor a fun upcoming event in Las Vegas. We will be donating “Lodestones” to the Swag Bag!
The RAWket Chocolate Frolic! party is a one night only no-holds-barred blow-out party that will involve great music to move to, live drumming, a little performance art and dancing and of course vintage pinball games. Your donation gets you a nice swag bag with chocolate from ChocolaTree, Raw Revolution and Pure 7 Chocolates. Non-alcoholic superfood ‘mocktails’ will also be served no-host style. For those looking to have something more than just chocolate, the Green Goes Food Truck will be on hand serving vegan-friendly fare.
This party is a satellite event and the main kick-off social mixer for Health-Healing-Happiness weekend Expo and Conference at the Tuscany Suites on June 11-12th. The “HHH” event is now in its fifth year and includes an impressive two day expo that is free and open to public. A separate conference brings together world class top presenters in the holistic wellness scene such as Dr. Joel Furhman (the inventor of the Whole Foods Market ANDI (Aggregate Nutrient Density Index) which has been praised by Dr. Andrew Weil. Additional National Level speakers are also on tap as well as a few local health heroes. There will be plant-based cuisine Chef Demos, yoga and fitness classes and a big raffle. The ‘Frolic’ Party will include a singles mixer activity for healthy individuals to meetup.
The organizers of the RAWket Chocolate Frolic event are no strangers to throwing fun events. They were also responsible for three legendary “Mondo Lounge” events, two of them being in Las Vegas. Those Rat Pack era weekenders were filled with live entertainment, dancing and vendors. The Chocolate Frolic is bound to have a few special surprises in store for attendees.

Our Little Free Library landscape ‘structure’ is complete – i.e. the hardscape and basic major tree plantings… now just need to give everything time to fill in and settle. A little sanctuary of respite of peace and calm in the middle of Downtown Las Vegas. Newly installed food forest. LFL with great books to uplift community. Garden already serving up fresh peaches. A quiet place to sit and contemplate. An oasis sanctuary for the thirsty bees. What more could you ask for?
A lot of backbreaking work paid off. Including hauling tons if free river and lava rocks off craigslist. What was truly priceless as we started to fill the fountain… bees came to visit! They sensed the change in barometric pressure or something.
Next… to plant the bee forage wildflowers.
We have exciting news to share… Chef Mason Green and anand (aka Mr. and Mrs. “S.”) have just finished the first draft of their new book, tentatively entitled, Kiss Addiction Goodbye. The subtitle is, “The twelve step diet to aid recovery and heal compulsive behavior.” It is well over 200 pages and loaded with 20+ years of research on the subject of obsessive-compulsive behavior patterns, and of course, Experience, Strength and Hope.
We hope that you like the cover design that we’re working on… It is modeled after the first edition of the Big Book of AA. Alcoholics Anonymous.
Last night we smudged and sanctified our Little Free Self Help Library. We burned sage and cedar and sweetgrass, said blessings. We had a terrific pot luck and sat around the fire building community connections. Oh and we met and made new friends with some neighbors.
Already many books are gone and so we are restocking with a few more fun ones today:
plus a couple of raw food recipe books!

"My stay at the Whole-way house was awesome. The neighborhood is very urban, eclectic, and so friendly! The house was very clean, nicely furnished and well-equipped with everything I needed. I always felt very comfortable in the house and in the neighborhood. Although the house is located in the heart of the city it's on a quiet side street so I never heard any noise in the evenings and always had a great nights' sleep (I'm a very light sleeper). My greatest memory was taking my evening walks and seeing the beautiful sights and sounds of the city. I would highly recommend the WholeWay Home to friends and family!"
